While I originally thought I would do a post per sewing project, the reality of that just isn’t viable. The time it takes to take pictures of a project along the way, and then a detailed post about it just seems too tedious at this stage. I also feel that my skills are not at a level to be offering advice or tutorials to anyone! So I’m just sharing my projects that I’ve completed over the last few months.
First up, the dresses and shirts I made for my best friends children. They choose the fabric at Christmas, and I’ve finally finished them all.

All the patterns from Little Lizard King – Bayfield, Mackinac Island and Malibu.
Next, shirts for my dad. The pattern is a one my mum has made from a few different patterns and some of dads current shirts. He has limited movement in one of his shoulders, so they have been adjusted to have lots of room for him to get the shirts on and off easily. The have been affectionately named by Ruby; Poppy’s lemon shirt, squirmy wormy shirt, sun shirt and puppy shirt ❤

Lastly for this post, Ruby’s tutus! My first experience sewing with tulle. I don’t love it, but Ruby loves wearing them, so it makes it worth it! She choose the mermaid and ballerina fabric, as well as the flowers. The blue and green flowers was more fabric from the depths of mums cupboard. I had a skirt made from it when I was little! The patterns used for this were also Little Lizard King (LLK) – Malibu, Cusco and London. I just love the LLK patterns. I found them by luck, and they have so many options I haven’t bothered to look at any other patterns! I have a few more I’ve bought that I’m waiting to make, some togs for Ruby and a backpack for myself. For now though, here’s the tutus.

Only on posting this have I realised how few photos I have of the Mermaid tutu, which is ironic since Ruby wears it so often! It was a dedicated labour of love, the tutu is made from 3 different pieces of tulle, blue, pink and a white with glitter. I cut them into strips and joined them altogether, 2 layers of it. I now realise you can buy tulle thats already rainbow or ombre look! I’m just glad she likes it so much and gets so much wear out of it.
I have a few other little things I’ve made, including a skirt for me, but no pictures! I will endeavour to get some, even for my own record. I might just share it on the Facebook page rather than doing a seperate post. Next on my list for sewing is a jumper for Ruby from some May Gibbs Gumnut Baby fabric I bought on sale last year, and a lunch bag that is turning into a much bigger effort than I thought! It might be a post on its on haha.
